Please join us for the 2nd Annual NCWHA Oktoberfest Horse Show October 24th and 25th in the beautiful Sonoma County Wine Country. This show is the second show sponsored by the Northern California Walking Horse Association (“NCWHA”). You will find that Sonoma County in the fall is a wonderful place for a horse show and a great place to close out the 2009 show season and postpone the winter doldrums. There are many wonderful restaurants, wineries, and other destinations to see in the area, so come and explore the beautiful wine country of Northern California. The NCWHA is committed to the sound Tennessee Walking Horse. We are fully committed to making sure the Oktoberfest Horse Show and all NCWHA events are in full compliance with the Horse Protection Act and ask for your assistance in this endeavor.  We believe that the Oktoberfest Horse Show is one of the premier showcases of the natural talent of the Tennessee Walking Horse.

 

NCWHA also believes in giving back to the community and will be donating a portion of the net show proceeds to a local charity the “Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern California”. Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern California is dedicated to supporting programs that improve the lives of children and their families by supporting the Sacramento Ronald McDonald House and Camp Ronald McDonald at Eagle Lake. While McDonald's Restaurants provide generous support to Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern California, the majority of financial contributions come from community donations, special events and corporate sponsorships. Oktoberfest Exhibitors Dinner
 
Lets Polka!! There will be an Exhibitors dinner Saturday night on the show grounds. Please join us for an Oktoberfest Celebration. Rotisserie Chicken, Braised Bratwurst and Italian Sausage, Sauerkraut, German Potato Salad, Cabbage & Noodles, Green Bean Salad with Ale Dressing, & Fresh Green Salad will be served. Tickets are $15 per person. Please reserve your dinner tickets on your entry forms so that we can get a head count for the caterer. Thanks!

 

NCWHA Dessert Auction Saturday Night

 

Please join us Saturday night after the Exhibitors dinner for the NCWHA Dessert Auction!!

 

 

Open Gaited Breed Classes

 

The Oktoberfest Horse show is pleased to announce that we have added Open Gaited Breed classes this year. If we do not have your breed specific classes included in our show, participate in our open classes so that we know you are interested! If we get enough of a turn out for your breed maybe next year you’ll have your own breed specific classes!

 

Versatility High Point Award

 

A Versatility High Point will be awarded at the conclusion of the show. The award will be presented to the horse that accumulates the most points. Please see the attached form for details and rules. You must return your High Point entry form along with your class entry form to the show office before the show begins in order to qualify.

 

Perpetual Trophies in most Championship Classes

Pacific Northwest Regional Highpoint System

 

This show qualifies for PNWR Year End High Points. To obtain high points, you must be a member of either the Tennessee Walking Horse Exhibitors of Oregon (TWHEAO) and/or the Tennessee Walking Horse Exhibitors Association of Washington (TWHBEA of WA). All horse owners must be a member of TWHEAO OR TWHBEA of WA to qualify for high points as well.
